Fashion Merchandiser - Export House

Location: Okhla, New Delhi Department: Cutting Role Overview: The Merchandiser (Cutting Department) will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely execution of fabric cutting plans as per the production schedule for Kurti manufacturing. This role bridges the coordination between production, design, and fabric sourcing teams to ensure optimum fabric utilization, quality compliance, and timely order delivery. Key Responsibilities: 1. Production Coordination & Planning Study and understand tech packs, garment specifications, and order sheets for each Kurti style. Plan and schedule cutting activities based on production timelines and delivery priorities. Coordinate with the fabric store to ensure fabric availability before cutting starts. Prepare daily/weekly cutting targets and monitor achievement. 2. Fabric Utilization & Control Prepare and approve fabric consumption sheets for each style. Ensure correct marker making (manual/automatic) for minimum wastage. Monitor fabric defects and take corrective actions before spreading. Maintain records of fabric issued, consumed, and returned. 3. Quality & Compliance Ensure adherence to pattern specifications, grain lines, and cutting accuracy. Work with the QA team to check cut panels for shade, size, and defect-free quality. Maintain cutting department’s compliance with company SOPs and quality standards. 4. Team Coordination & Vendor Management Supervise fabric spreaders, cutters, and helpers in the cutting section. Manage Embroidery Vendors. Train team members on fabric handling, cutting accuracy, and safety measures. 5. Reporting & Documentation Maintain cutting reports, fabric reconciliation sheets, and wastage analysis. Submit daily/weekly status reports to the Production Manager. Flag any delays, shortages, or quality issues immediately for corrective action. Skills & Qualifications: Education: Graduate / Diploma in Fashion Technology, Textile, or related field. Experience: 2–5 years in merchandising or production coordination, preferably in women’s ethnic wear (Kurti manufacturing).
