Facade Design Lead

Key Responsibilities

1. Enquiry & Pre-Sales Support

·        Review sales enquiries, drawings (3D, CAD, PDFs), and prepare accurate BOQs.

·        Participate in pre-sales client meetings to provide technical clarifications.

2. Design Development

·        Guide designers in preparing BOQs, concept drawings, and shop drawings.

·        Ensure BOQs are proof-checked for scope coverage, fixing mechanisms, and material specifications.

3. Post-Award Responsibilities

·        Validate site survey reports in coordination with execution team.

·        Ensure drawings include complete fixing details, bracket designs (standard & custom), and specifications (material finish, make, size, quantity).

4. Quality & Accuracy Control

·        Validate glass sizes before production to prevent rejection.

·        Monitor and train design team on accuracy, speed, and quality of drawings.

5. Collaboration & Support

·        Work closely with execution head to resolve site-level technical challenges.

·        Provide solutions for design deviations during execution with proper approvals and cost implications.

·        Collaborate with procurement for customised materials, bracket designs, and vendor support.

Key Skills & Competencies

·        Strong expertise in façade/structural glazing system design.

·        Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D modelling, and structural analysis tools.

·        Knowledge of material specifications (glass, aluminium, anchors, sealants).

·        Ability to lead and mentor design teams.

·        Strong coordination and communication skills with sales, procurement, and execution teams.

·        Attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving mindset.

Performance Metrics

·        Accuracy of BOQs and drawings.

·        Timeliness of design deliverables.

·        Number of client/architect design approvals with minimal revisions.

·        Reduction in material rejections/errors at site.

·        Design team efficiency, accuracy, and skill development.
