Job Description

Responsibilities of a SOC Analyst:

The job involves monitoring and investigating alerts in a 24x7 SOC operations environment.
As an analyst, you will work on alerts/incidents escalated by junior analysts.
Investigating alerts includes log analysis, identifying the root cause, and gathering evidence.
Collaborating with senior analysts to investigate true positive alerts is also part of the job.
Reporting is a crucial aspect of the job, including weekly, MIS, compliance, and firewall policy changes reports.
You will be expected to conduct peer reviews of alerts closed by team members.
Keeping up to date with new cyber-attacks/advisories in various sites/blogs and searching the IOC in the SIEM tool is also part of the job.
You will assist senior analysts in fine-tuning the rules and creating new reports/dashboards.
Escalating complex alerts/incidents to the senior analyst is also expected.
Daily SOC status reports should be sent to the SOC manager & Cyber Security Director.
You will work with the concerned team to understand why the log sources are not forwarding the logs to SIEM and share it with the senior analyst.
Work with the support team for issues faced in the tool and following it through to closure.
Monitoring alarms and keeping the MTTD and MTTR without SLA breaches is also part of the job.
