Job Description

He/She is responsible for technical expertise on Saft's ESS products with the aim of developing competitive technical solutions for our customers.

He/She is the main technical interface between the client and the internal team. He/She defines and prepares the technical sizing and requirements of Saft energy storage solutions to customer specifications. He/she provides technical support to business and sales teams. He/She helps engineering teams to continusly improve tools by giving feedback on the utilisation.


He/She manages BESS aspect of small and large Energy Storage Solutions projects bid, from customer requirements analysis to bid process management and Operation Hand Over. He/She will have to interact with various multi-discipline professionals: Applications Engineers, AC Team, Service Team, Purchasing, Legal, Operation, Subcontractors.


The position is to be filled in Bengalore (India).


Your missions :

  • Develop an understanding of the BESS market (Market Trends/New products launched / Competitors solutions/New Applications opening) thanks to interactions with End user/Customers, Owner Engineers as well as participation to conferences/Webinars.
  • Analyse and understand the technical specifications of the client while taking into account business opportunities, customer requirements and stands guarantor that tenders will be achieved in compliance with the customers’ requirements
  • Define and prepare the technical sizing of Saft stationary solutions offers by promoting off-the-shelf products.
  • Contribute to updating tools to ensure they are the most accurate possible.
  • Transmit the necessary technical information to customers and sales teams.
  • Support sales teams for technical discussions with customers and internal teams to prepare offers.
  • Analyze customer requirements and ensure that tenders are aligned with customer expectations.
  • Develop and adjust bid response strategies based on input from sales and support functions.
  • Drive the bidding process from initiation to completion, including evaluating Go/No Go proposals and initiating the Request for Proposal (RFP) stage.
  • Estimate the total project cost, encompassing direct expenses, subcontractor/vendor costs, overhead, contingencies, and scope exclusions.
  • Formulate the commercial and technical proposals highlighting the value proposition and addressing the customer's business case.



Your profile :

  • Engineering degree
  • 2 years + in system and electrical engineering (preferred), application engineering, or electrochemistry. Grid market knowledge, a plus.
  • B to B business in an international and industrial environment. Demonstrated and advanced knowledge of the REN energy market.
  • Knowledge of the ESS market is a real advantage for this position
  • Knowledge of battery systems, battery applications and techniques
  • Customer orientation, ability to exchange and convince a customer on technical subjects
  • Knowledge of modeling and planning software
  • Fluent in english
