Job Description

Responsibilities:

General manager or AVP

  • Conduct regular safety audits & inspections
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Develop & implement EHS policies & procedures
  • Manage emergency response plans
  • JD for safety Head Gm and Avp
  • To ensure a safe and compliant working environment across all plant operations by implementing and monitoring safety systems, training, and statutory compliance as per ISO and Factory Act standards.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • 1. Safety Management & Compliance
  • Develop, implement, and monitor plant safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory safety norms (Factory Act, Environmental Laws, etc.).
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections across all departments.
  • Maintain updated records of permits, licenses, and statutory documentation.
  • 2. Training & Awareness
  • Conduct safety induction and refresher training for employees, contract workers, and visitors.
  • Drive awareness programs such as fire drills, mock evacuation, and toolbox talks.
  • Build a culture of proactive safety behavior across the organization.
  • 3. Incident Investigation & Reporting
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe acts/conditions; identify root causes.
  • Prepare incident analysis reports and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • 4. Fire & Emergency Preparedness
  • Ensure functional firefighting systems and periodic inspection of safety equipment.
  • Lead the plant emergency response team and conduct mock drills regularly.
  • 5. Coordination & Liaison
  • Liaise with external agencies such as DISH, Pollution Control Board, and local authorities.
  • Support internal and external EHS audits and compliance verifications.
  • 6. Continuous Improvement
  • Implement 5S and safety improvement projects.
  • Drive zero-incident culture through continuous monitoring and behavior-based safety initiatives.
  • Key Skills & Competencies:
  • In-depth knowledge of EHS legislation and Factory Act.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to influence and drive safety culture.
  • Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: B.Tech / Diploma in Engineering with a recognized Safety / Industrial Safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH / RLI / CLI / State Board of Technical Education).
  • Experience:15 +years in plant safety management within automotive / manufacturing industry.
  • Preferred: Experience in IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 systems.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Zero Lost Time Injury (LTI).
  • 100% statutory compliance.
  • Timely closure of audit observations.
  • Training coverage & effectiveness.
  • Reduction in unsafe acts/incidents.
