Engineer / Senior Engineer – Automotive Interiors

Job Description Role: Engineer / Senior Engineer – Automotive Interiors (Dashboard, Console & Decorative Parts) Role Overview:- Responsible for design, development, testing, and validation of Dashboard (I/P), Console, and Interior Decorative Parts for automotive applications. The role involves ensuring robust product performance, compliance with regulatory standards (ECE-R21), cost and weight optimization, and seamless vehicle-level integration in line with program schedules. Key Responsibilities:- Design & development of Dashboard (I/P), Console, and Interior Decorative Parts including soft-touch components as per project timelines. Conduct CAE for stiffness analysis of interior parts and support Designer CAE activities. Execute part-level and vehicle-level testing & validation as per program schedules. Perform regulatory checks, specifically compliance with ECE-R21 (interior fittings). Monitor and control cost & weight at part and sub-system level. Plan and implement countermeasures based on design/quality reviews, line feedback, and testing. Collaborate with suppliers and business partners to ensure timely part development. Study and analyze production and market quality issues and propose solutions. Technical Competencies Experience in design or development in at least one of the following areas: Dashboard (I/P) Parts Interior Decorative Parts Console Parts Good understanding of manufacturing processes and costing functions. Hands-on experience in part & vehicle-level testing. Specific Expertise: Proficiency in CAD modeling software (preferably Unigraphics / NX). Behavioral Competencies Positive attitude and proactive approach. Strong team player with collaborative mindset. Good communication, analytical, and presentation skills. Ability to study and apply global and domestic automotive interior trends. Educational Qualification & Work Experience Full-time B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering. Minimum 60% marks throughout education. Relevant experience in automotive interiors design & development preferred.
