Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Develop and create 3D models of substation AIS equipment including Circuit Breakers, Disconnector Switches, Earth Switches, CTs, CVTs, LAs, BPIs, Aluminum tubes, clamps, connectors, and lattice structures using PRIMTECH 3D . Model power transformers, outdoor/indoor GIS, hybrid GIS, reactors, GIS halls, control buildings, and complete substation layouts using PRIMTECH 3D. Prepare substation layouts considering space constraints, safety clearances, and electrical interconnections. Manage and update the 3D model throughout the project lifecycle to ensure accuracy and consistency. Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for cables, trays, clamps, connectors, insulator hardware, disc insulators, BPIs, etc. using PRIMTECH 3D. Perform simulations including sag-tension calculations, short-circuit force analysis, lightning protection studies, cantilever force calculations, and clearance diagram preparation within PRIMTECH 3D. Collaborate with clients to understand design requirements and present visualizations of substation layouts. Create prototype General Arrangement (GA) drawings using templates and vendor GA drawings in PRIMTECH 3D. Prepare construction drawings, "As-Built" documentation, and incorporate field red-marked updates. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (electrical, civil, and mechanical) to develop integrated substation designs. Maintain detailed documentation related to 3D models including drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Required Skills & Competencies: PRIMTECH 3D Expertise : Proficiency in substation modeling using PRIMTECH software. Strong understanding of substation design principles and electrical equipment standards. Hands-on experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation , and preferably SolidWorks . Strong skills in project planning, communication, and documentation. Analytical approach with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple design tasks while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. Excellent teamwork and collaboration with engineering and project teams. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in modeling substation layouts and equipment. Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, IEEE) related to substation design. Experience in simulation and analysis related to substation performance and clearances. Exposure to power system infrastructure projects is an added advantage.
