Job Title: Embedded Linux Software Engineer

Experience: 3–4 Years

Location: Hyderabad / Bangalore

We are looking for an Embedded Linux Software Engineer with strong experience in Linux kernel development, device drivers, board bring-up, and embedded system design.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded Linux software and Linux kernel device drivers.
• Work on U-Boot configuration, kernel compilation, Linux startup flow, and file systems.
• Perform board bring-up, cross-platform debugging, and kernel log analysis.
• Develop multithreaded and multi-process applications.
• Use Yocto, Buildroot, and other Linux build systems.
• Work with Host–Target toolchains for embedded platforms.
• Debug using JTAG, TRACE32, ICE, ICD, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers.
• Read and understand schematics, datasheets, and technical reference manuals.
• Prepare design documents, specifications, test plans, and test reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support junior engineers (if needed).

Required Skills

• 3–4 years of hands-on embedded software development in C.
• 3+ years of experience with Linux kernel and device drivers.
• Strong understanding of OS fundamentals and multithreading concepts.
• Experience with embedded Linux build systems (Yocto/Buildroot).
• Strong debugging skills including crash analysis, system locks, and resets.
• Experience with Git, CVS, JIRA, Bitbucket, SourceTree, Confluence.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving ability, and documentation skills.

Desired Skills

• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Knowledge of Linux internals, system-level debugging, reverse engineering, and protocols.
• Experience with RTOS (Zephyr, FreeRTOS).
• Experience working with open-source software.
• Ability to work across multiple domains with a positive attitude.
