Job Description

Role Overview: You will be responsible for supporting the design, development, and transition to production of Electronics packaging solutions for Electric Drives, Power Electronics, and Built-to-Spec packaged solutions. Your role will involve interacting with a team of multi-disciplined engineers to design, layout, and document electronic, electrical, and mechanical assemblies. Your activities will include circuit design, PCB layout, material selection, part modeling, thermal/mechanical analysis, EMI-EMC analysis, and process optimization. Additionally, you will interface with sourcing, suppliers, engineering teams, and production operations on electronics packaging issues. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and validate new electronics packaging solutions - Apply knowledge of compliance requirements including MIL-STD, UL, EN, CSA, CE, and EV (AIS-138) charging standards - Conduct detailed component-level analysis to identify locations and operating conditions of high electromagnetic/thermal/mechanical stresses - Survey and investigate advanced circuit topologies, component/board/packaging/manufacturing technologies to improve circuit performance and reduce cost, weight, sizes - Develop mixed-mode circuits for power electronics applications to achieve high accuracy, robustness, and low power consumption - Consolidate discrete components to hybrid ICs to improve robustness and transition concepts to production functionality - Integrate power modules, cooling, gate drives, discrete components, and sensors in one package for better overall layout, robustness, and manufacturing efficiency - Generate BOM from conceptual design - Plan, direct, and complete product/part testing and validation - Benchmark competitive solutions - Understand customer technical needs and resolve customer complaints - Solve manufacturing, quality, and purchasing issues - Manage product line cost reduction and reliability improvement initiatives Qualifications Required: - B.E/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering/Electronics - 5 to 8 years of relevant experience - Knowledge of Stepper/BLDC/DC motors and controllers - Design of SMPS-based power supplies from 1-15kW - Working knowledge of power devices SCR, GTO, MOSFET, and IGBT - Understanding of power budget calculations for AC & DC power systems - Circuit design (schematics) and PCB layout - Ability to read/understand CAD designs of plastics, sheet metal, and die-castings parts - Design for manufacturability - Understanding of EMI/EMC circuits is desirable - Strong in Engineering Documentation - Highly motivated, self-starter, confident, and excellent interpersonal skills - Good problem-solving skills with an analytical blend of mind,
