Electrical Estimation Engineer - MEP/ Electrical

Job Title: Electrical Estimation Engineer Industry: Electrical & Electronics / MEP / Construction Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Estimation Engineer to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical systems and components in various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, market pricing, and estimation software. You will be involved in analysing drawings, specifications, and BOQs to provide reliable project bids and support tendering processes. Key Responsibilities: Analyze project electrical drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare detailed cost estimates. Prepare comprehensive Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for electrical systems, including lighting, power, low current, and control systems. Evaluate material, labor, and equipment costs based on project requirements. Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations. Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings when necessary to assess the project scope. Work closely with design, procurement, and project teams to ensure estimation accuracy and completeness. Perform value engineering and identify cost-saving alternatives. Prepare technical and commercial bid submissions for tenders. Maintain and update a database of costs and historical project data for reference. Support the contracts team in post-award budget adjustments and cost breakdowns. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in electrical estimating, preferably within MEP or construction sectors. Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC). Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, CCS Candy, etc.). Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and within a team under tight deadlines.
