Job Description: Electrical Engineer – STP Operation & Maintenance

Position Title: Electrical Engineer

Department: Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Electrical

Location: Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) Site Gujarat

Reports To: Plant Manager / O&M Head

1. Role Objective

To ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all electrical and instrumentation systems at the Sewage Treatment Plant, including power distribution, motors, control systems, and instrumentation, while supporting uninterrupted treatment operations and compliance with statutory norms.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Operation & Monitoring

• Operate and monitor HT/LT electrical supply, transformers, DG sets, UPS, and distribution boards.
• Ensure smooth functioning of motors, blowers, pumps, and mixers through MCC and VFD panels.
• Supervise PLC/SCADA systems, sensors, and instrumentation for accurate process control.
• Record and analyze daily power consumption, equipment efficiency, and downtime logs.

B. Maintenance

• Prepare and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for motors, panels, and electrical equipment.
• Conduct routine inspection of wiring, cabling, earthing, and protection systems.
• Troubleshoot and rectify breakdowns in electrical and control systems.
• Coordinate with mechanical and civil teams during plant shutdowns.

C. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure proper earthing, lightning protection, and functioning of protective relays.
• Implement electrical safety standards, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and PPE usage.
• Maintain compliance with CEA/IE rules, state electricity board regulations, and OHS guidelines.

D. Drawings & Documentation

• Read, interpret, and update Single Line Diagrams (SLD), wiring diagrams, cable layouts, and earthing layouts.
• Understand P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control logic for process integration.
• Maintain updated as-built drawings and technical documentation.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities, failures, energy usage, and corrective measures.

E. Team & Coordination

• Provide technical support to operators, technicians, and maintenance staff.
• Coordinate with automation, instrumentation, and process teams for smooth operation.
• Assist in audits, inspections, and client/authority site visits.

3. Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• Experience: 2–5 years in O&M of Sewage Treatment Plants, Water Treatment Plants, or similar industrial facilities.
• Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of HT/LT systems, MCCs, PCCs, DG sets, and VFDs.
• Familiarity with PLC/SCADA, instrumentation sensors, and control logic.
• Ability to read SLDs, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Soft Skills: Problem-solving, analytical thinking, team coordination, documentation skills.

4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Plant availability and minimal electrical downtime.
• Adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.
• Compliance with safety and statutory standards.
• Accuracy and timely completion of reports and documentation.
• Reduction in energy consumption and breakdown frequency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
