Job Description

SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY (Purpose of the Role)

  • Governance role for implementation of EHS Management system based on L&T EHS Policy & Mission Zero Harm.
  • Ensure to implement, and manage the organization’s EHS strategies, policies, and programs to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement across all functions and operations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to project-level EHS teams to enhance their effectiveness and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Review EHS performance indicators, including leading and lagging metrics, to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations for process

SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES

Leadership

  • Ensure Implementation of the EHS & ESG strategy & EHS Management system across RBF Projects
  • Ensure safety goals align with the organization’s overall mission and values.
  • Advocate for a "Zero Harm" approach, emphasizing that all incidents are preventable
  • Ensure the availability of adequate resources, including manpower, training, and equipment, to support safety initiatives
  • Leverage advancements in technology and safety practices to enhance safety performance.
  • Anticipate challenges and develop effective strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Build systems and processes that ensure safety excellence for the future.

EHS Governance

  • Ensure EHS Governance through Systems & Procedures in Project sites including O&M Sites
  • Integrate EHS guidelines & Corporate Programs in line with the Business processes.
  • Drive Group ESG objectives, goals, and programs by coordinating with different functions & project sites.

Team Management

  • Setting up competent & efficient EHS Organization.
  • Mentor the EHS team, including Project EHS In charges & safety officers, ensuring they perform effectively and remain motivated.
  • Strategic deployment of EHS Staffs at HO & project Sites.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Ensure proactive collaboration with management, project teams, and external agencies to promote a unified approach to workplace safety.

EHS Performance

  • Conduct EHS management reviews, analyze and assess the changes at the RBF level.
  • MIS on EHS Performance to RBF/IC Management.

KNOWLEDGE

Minimum Qualifications

  • BE (Civil/Mechanical/ Electrical) or Degree in Science.
  • Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety
  • MTech / MSc in Environment.
  • Undergone Lead Auditors Course in ISO14001:2015.
  • NEBOSH Certification
