EDI Lead - SAP

Scope

Experienced and technically skilled team lead to oversee SAP EDI/API

configuration and integration efforts across both SAP ECC (including AFS) and

S/4HANA platforms. This leadership role demands deep functional and technical

expertise in EDI/API integrations within the retail and wholesale distribution

environments. Hands-on experience with OpenText (TLE) and a strong

background in EDI/API integration within Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

ecosystems.

• Responsible for understanding technology capabilities and maintaining in

the capability library in EDI

• Responsible for technical architectural strategy within overall IT strategy
• Responsible for defining quality control procedures for deliverables from

the technology CoE and follow these procedures for the team

• Responsible for ensuring technical integrity (including non-functional

requirements) of solutions adhering to IT standards and policies - including

formal review and signoff in conjunction with CoE

• Responsible for providing input for estimates to the Delivery Manager

regarding technology deliverables

• Responsible for liaising with our vendor partners technical teams and

architects

• Responsible for defining technical standards and governing process for

technical standard and policies

• Responsible to continuously recommend technology architecture

improvements

• Responsible for providing and reviewing technical designs for projects,

SERs, etc.

• Responsible for providing technical guidance to team
• Responsible for continually researching current and emerging technologies

and proposing changes where beneficial and needed

• Responsible for assessing the technical impact of new capabilities or

systems prior to introducing them into the landscape

• Responsible for partnering with the appropriate Business Analyst to

translate business, functional and technical application requirements into

technical system design

• Non-business facing role based where delivery is performed

Partner onboarding: Configure new trading partners, including setting up

required EDI profiles and connectivity

New maps: Design and implement new EDI maps based on partner specs.

Map modifications: Adjust existing maps to accommodate changes in partner

specs or internal data requirements.

Map failures: Diagnose and resolve mapping errors, transformation issues, or

data mismatches.

Job scheduling: Set up and manage scheduled jobs for EDI processing (e.g.,

transmission, translation, archival).

Resend data: Resend data for failed messages.

• SAP

IDoc flow knowledge: Understand end-to-end IDoc lifecycle

(creation, transmission, processing).

Reprocess IDocs: Use SAP transaction codes, or manually edit and

reprocess failed IDocs.

IDoc creation: Trigger IDocs using standard output types; familiarity

with SAP standard transactions

Output types: Configure and troubleshoot output types for triggering

EDI.

EDI table entries: Work with SAP EDI tables (new entries and

troubleshooting).

EDI-specific customer master data fields: Maintain WE20 partner

profiles, and maintain EDI customer master data fields.

SAP job management: Understand and maintain SAP background

jobs.
