Job Description

As an E-commerce Buyer at Qurbat, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end buying cycle for our ethnic apparel range. This includes supplier management, product selection, seasonal buying visits, merchandise assessment, image shoots, and collaborating with the website team to ensure the right products are showcased online.

Key Responsibilities

Buying & Merchandising:

  • Plan and execute seasonal buying strategies aligned with sales targets and fashion trends.
  • Conduct supplier meetings to source new collections and negotiate pricing, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Organize and attend buying visits to evaluate new designs, fabrics, and market trends.
  • Prepare and monitor assessment and buying plans to ensure the assortment meets sales goals and customer demand.
  • Track inventory performance and recommend reorders or markdowns as necessary.

Product & Content Management:

  • Coordinate product photoshoots with internal teams and photographers to ensure high-quality images.
  • Ensure all product images, descriptions, and attributes are accurately updated for the website catalog.
  • Collaborate with the website and marketing teams on product launches, online promotions, and campaigns.

Supplier & Vendor Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance.
  • Negotiate favorable commercial terms with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality and ethical sourcing standards.

Analytics & Reporting:

  • Monitor sales data, product performance, and online customer preferences.
  • Provide insights on trends, pricing, and competition to refine buying strategies.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly buying performance reports for management.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of apparel buying, sourcing, and merchandising, preferably in ethnic wear.
  • Keen eye for fashion trends, fabrics, and consumer preferences.
  • Hands-on experience with e-commerce cataloging and website merchandising.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, and e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Fashion, Textile, Business Management, or a related field.
