Job Description

Mandatory Qualifications

  • 12+ years of professional experience with Drupal (has worked on major enterprise projects on Drupal 9/10+).
  • Proven track record designing high-traffic, multi-region platforms
  • Mastery of Drupal core APIs (Entity, Field, Plugin, Services, Cache), Composer workflows, and Symfony components.
  • Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, or Openshift).
  • Strong DevSecOps background: Docker-based local stacks, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), observability tooling (New Relic, Datadog, Grafana), vulnerability management.
  • Deep experience integrating Drupal with external systems: CRM (Salesforce/MS Dynamics), DAM, search (Solr/Elastic), SSO/OIDC, payment gateways, marketing-automation, analytics.
  • Solid front-end understanding: Twig, SCSS, ES6; able to guide React/Vue/Next.js developers on headless patterns.
  • Excellent communication skill - able to write architecture decision records , run whiteboard sessions, and brief executives.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional TO HAVE :
  • Certifications: One or more cloud architect certifications
  • Experience with composable commerce (Drupal Commerce, BigCommerce, CommerceTools) and personalization (Acquia CDP, Optimizely, Adobe Target).
  • Prior work in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, public sector) and familiarity with WCAG.
  • Contributions to Drupal core initiatives, module maintainership, or speaking engagements at DrupalCons or camps.
  • Familiarity with micro-frontend architectures, edge compute (Cloudflare Workers, AWS Lambda@Edge), and JAMstack/Static Site Generation patterns (Gatsby, Next.js ISR).

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and document end-to-end solution architecture for complex, multi-site Drupal ecosystems: content model, configuration-management strategy, custom module design, and integration topology.
  • Establish platform standards (coding, branching, secrets, performance, accessibility, security) and govern adherence across internal and vendor teams.
  • Select and justify contrib/custom components, third-party services, and headless or hybrid approaches (REST, JSON:API, GraphQL) in line with scalability and performance targets.
  • Design cloud-native deployment patternscontainerization, autoscaling, blue-green/Canary releases, disaster recovery, CDN, global edge caching.
  • Own non-functional requirements: availability, performance SLAs, data residency, compliance (e.g GDPR)
