Job Description

Purpose/Objective


    The Divisional Security Incharge is responsible for overseeing the entire security function of sites/locations within the respective division, including implementing robust physical security measures, managing day-to-day security operations, conducting audits to safeguard assets and personnel. The responsibilities include ensuring compliance with security protocols and safety regulations, coordinating emergency responses to incidents like fires or medical emergencies, and conducting regular drills to maintain readiness and refine emergency procedures. Additionally, the role involves managing vendor relations, handling administrative tasks related to security personnel, and providing comprehensive MIS reports to stakeholders to maintain optimal security standards and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    Divisional Security Incharge Physical Security Management: Develop and enforce physical security protocols to safeguard assets and reduce incidents like theft or vandalism. Supervise daily operations such as the monitoring of security personnel, ensuring they adhere to operational protocols. Assess manpower needs and optimize security staff deployment to ensure smooth and effective security operations across the zone. Manpower Management: Regularly conduct training to enhance security staff’s skills, ensuring they are up-to-date with protocols. Foster a supportive work environment for security personnel by maintaining high morale and addressing any issues promptly to ensure the team remains motivated and effective. Operational Oversight: Ensure strict security protocols at entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized access. Use advanced surveillance systems to monitor and analyze site security continuously. Implement streamlined processes for material movement, ensuring adherence to security standards while maintaining operational efficiency. Conduct regular surprise checks to verify compliance with security procedures, identifying vulnerabilities and taking corrective actions to enhance site security. Internal Audits and Compliance: Address non-conformance issues promptly and prepare detailed reports to document audit findings and corrective actions taken. Ensure continuous compliance with security protocols and standards. Regularly update audit practices to close gaps and enhance operational security. Emergency Response and Crisis Management: Take charge of responding to emergencies, including incidents related to Industrial Relations, Property Rights, fires, and medical crises. Lead the implementation of emergency plans, ensuring that security teams are prepared to handle unforeseen events efficiently. Employee Security and Safety Awareness: Develop and conduct regular security and safety awareness programs for employees, covering topics like emergency response procedures, workplace safety protocols, and personal security best practices. Organize and lead periodic emergency drills (e.g., fire, medical emergencies) to ensure employees are prepared to respond effectively in real-life situations and enhance overall safety awareness. Foster a security-conscious culture by promoting ongoing communication about security policies, safety regulations, and employee roles in maintaining a secure work environment. Project Management and Implementation: Oversee and lead the execution of security projects, including the introduction of new policies or technology. Ensure these initiatives align with organizational objectives to improve security effectiveness and response times. Lead the implementation of new security technologies and practices, aiming to enhance site safety while maintaining high operational efficiency. Mock Drills and Preparedness: Organize regular mock drills that simulate emergency scenarios to evaluate the readiness of security personnel and improve emergency response protocols. Provide ongoing crisis management training, including first aid and security awareness, to ensure that security teams are always prepared for emergencies. MIS Reporting: Compile and submit regular Management Information System (MIS) reports on security operations, providing insights and updates to senior management. Ensure the reports reflect the performance metrics of security systems and teams. Strategic Roles and Responsibilities: Understand the business goals and provide operational inputs for security strategy development. Ensure that security operations align with the overall objectives of the site and business. Work with the Process Centre of Excellence to suggest and implement improvements in security operations, ensuring efficient and effective processes are in place. Patrolling & Surveillance: Supervise the use of CCTV, sensors, and other surveillance equipment, ensuring that they provide continuous, real-time monitoring of the premises. Regularly conduct patrols across the site to assess security conditions and maintain high vigilance. Man & Vehicle Access Control: Oversee the operation of access control systems, ensuring that all personnel and vehicles are properly screened before entering or exiting the premises. Manage the processes for issuing access cards to VIP visitors, government officials, and contractors, ensuring security protocols are adhered to at all times. Business Traffic Management: Oversee traffic operations within the facility, ensuring that trucks and vehicles undergo proper authorization checks (e.g., GPS and RFID tagging). Address any critical traffic bottlenecks to ensure smooth flow. Supervise security officers to ensure compliance with traffic regulations and security protocols. Incident Management: Act as the first responder to security incidents, managing the situation according to established plans. Lead or support the Quick Reaction Team (QRT) in handling critical events. Provide input for updating emergency response plans based on lessons learned from incidents to improve future crisis management strategies. Partner Selection & Engagement: Collaborate with the Site Security Head to manage relationships with third-party security partners, ensuring their performance aligns with organizational expectations and security standards. Cultivate strong relationships with key partners to ensure the integration of best practices and compliance with security guidelines. Qualifications and Experience


    Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree (any) and Master’s degree in business management/ Operations or relevant field (Preferred) Work Experience (Range of years): 5 - 7 years Preferred Industry: 7 years of experience in Security Domain Certification: CPP, PSP
