Director-Research and Policy advocacy (Agri)

Research and Policy Advocacy will be responsible for co-designing and undertaking research projects/studies and ensure successful delivery of outcomes in a time bound manner. The candidate will undertake policy advocacy through effective engagement with the agrifood industry membership, government, thinktanks, and other relevant stakeholders. She/he will work

towards identifying new areas of research and policy advocacy that are most relevant to the contemporary policy discourse at the national and global levels. This position requires expertise in economic analysis, statistical methods, and a deep understanding of the complex policy dynamics pertaining to the food and agricultural sectors.

Drive Policy Advocacy -

Identify policy advocacy issues to be taken up. -

Articulate the issues considering diversestakeholder views.

Create sustained stakeholder engagement

Identify future areas of work in the agrifood sector

- Areas of work emerging from the ongoing/completed projects/studies or stakeholder engagements, and/or participation in policy consultations.

Develop Project Proposals

- Identify RFPs, EoIs, and other calls for proposals.

- Ideate with CII FACE team on different topics of research, project, and advocacy.

- Seek input from the agrifood industry membership and other stakeholders.

- Prepare new proposals based on areas of work emerging from the ongoing/completed

projects/studies or stakeholder engagements, and/or participation in policy consultations.

Post Graduate Degree in Economics, Public Policy or Agriculture Economics, or Agribusiness Management

1. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the field of food and agriculture
2. Experience in executing research studies and project reports.
3. Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to multi- task and adhere to timelines.
4. Stakeholder management. Experience in effectively communicating with, presenting to, and managing a variety of stakeholders - Industry, Government, International Stakeholders
5. Advanced conceptualization, critical analytical thinking, presentation and writing skills
