Job Description SummaryThe Director of Hosting Operations will set the vision and drive the strategy to deliver, maintain and optimize on-prem hosting operations for infrastructure services. In this role, you will lead a global organization of managed service providers, GE technologists, architects, and operational teams. You will partner closely with stakeholders across GE Aerospace sites, networks, and cloud teams to develop a comprehensive delivery model for on-prem infrastructure services that deliver competitive advantages and meet business needs.
Job DescriptionIn this role you will:
- Lead a global team to design, build, and operationalize on-prem hosting infrastructure operational services supporting Compute, virtualization, storage, Edge and Data Centre/Colo services.
- Partner with multiple teams across Aerospace DT, including Cyber, CxO teams to create shared strategic roadmaps for on-prem hosting operations. Communicate these plans to Business stakeholders for awareness and adoption. Do this with a cloud first thinking mindset.
- Demonstrate strong technical leadership and people management skills including solid communication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation, and resolution.
- Build, coach, mentor, and nurture a world class operational on-prem hosting services team.
- Manage capacity, velocity, and backlog across managed service providers and GE technologists to ensure business priorities are met while minimizing or eliminating technical debt across assets.
- Deploy internal products and platforms to improve team capabilities and efficiency, such as lean principals, standard work/ SOPs, process automation, quality assurance and testing.
- Drive a consistent communication rhythm on organization and governance/operational status, keeping DT leadership and functional partners aligned with overall initiative-based outcomes.
- Establishing and govern a world class wing to wing operational support model.
- Set the example; drive standards across teams to eliminate duplication and rework across Aerospace.
- Plan and manage budgets related to scope of team and consumed services. Own any chargeback model and financial reallocation for hosting across GE Aerospace.
- Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of GE Aerospace business direction, strategy, and GE Aerospace results. Make GEs Business strategy relevant to on-prem services and stakeholders.

- Technical leadership to influence suppliers on designs that align to our standards.
- Continually ensure value for money, choose optimal technology solutions that align strategically & commercially for global infrastructure.
- Deliver and support the defined strategic roadmap for hosting infrastructure tooling and technologies.
- Demonstrate Cloud First thinking for hosting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from accredited university or college with minimum of8years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of11years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of13years of professional experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience ininfrastructure services and hosting (Compute, virtualization, storage) technologies.
- Experience working in an ITIL environment
- ITIL3 and/or ITIL4 foundation certified
- Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
