DevOps Engineer (PTR)

Position Overview

A DevOps Engineer enables efficient software development and deployment by building automation, tools, and scalable environments. The role focuses on optimizing the SDLC through CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure management, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and security. DevOps Engineers work closely with Development, QA, Operations, and Architecture teams to ensure fast, reliable, and secure software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Management

1. Build, configure, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
2. Automate provisioning, configuration, and environment orchestration using Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Kubernetes, Docker, and related tools.
3. Manage cloud resources, networking, storage, and compute environments for optimal performance.

2. CI/CD Pipeline Development

1. Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines enabling seamless and automated application deployments.
2. Integrate automated tests and quality checks to ensure code reliability and adherence to development standards.
3. Manage tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.

3. Monitoring & Logging

1. Implement and support monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
2. Proactively detect, troubleshoot, and resolve application and infrastructure issues to maintain system uptime and performance.

4. Collaboration & DevOps Enablement

1. Partner with developers, QA, data teams, architects, and product managers to understand needs and deliver DevOps solutions.
2. Promote DevOps practices such as automation, continuous improvement, and collaborative problem-solving across the organization.

5. Security & Compliance

1. Implement security best practices in infrastructure and deployment processes.
2. Integrate vulnerability scanning, security testing, and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines.
3. Ensure systems adhere to organizational and regulatory standards.

6. Ownership, Documentation & Support

1. Take ownership of issues from identification to resolution.
2. Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and deployments.
3. Support incident and problem management activities, including root cause analysis and preventive measures.

7. Systems Integration

1. Build, test, and maintain integrations between various systems and services.
2. Work with teams to support more complex integration needs as part of large-scale engineering initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

1. Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
2. 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar role.
3. Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
4. Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
5. Expertise with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
6. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
7. Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
8. Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
9. Experience setting up and operating monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
10. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
11. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
