Job Description: Position: Desktop Support Engineer Department: IT Support / Technical Services Location: Santacruz, Mumbai Employment Type: [Full-time/Part-time/Contract] Reports To: IT Manager / Helpdesk Supervisor Job Summary The Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users regarding hardware, software, and network-related issues. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing IT equipment, ensuring minimal downtime, and delivering excellent customer service. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support & TroubleshootingProvide Level 1 & 2 IT support for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and mobile devices. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues (Windows, macOS, Linux). Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and applications (MS Office, antivirus, etc.). Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (LAN/Wi-Fi/VPN). Support Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and email configurations. Hardware & Software MaintenanceSet up and deploy new workstations, laptops, and IT equipment. Perform hardware repairs (RAM, HDD/SSD, motherboard replacements). Manage software licenses, patches, and updates. Maintain an inventory of IT assets and track warranty status. User Assistance & TrainingAssist users with password resets, account unlocks, and access permissions. Guide employees on basic IT best practices and security awareness. Document solutions in the knowledge base for future reference. IT Infrastructure SupportAssist in maintaining servers, routers, switches, and VoIP systems. Support backup and disaster recovery processes. Collaborate with the IT team on system upgrades and migrations.
