Design Specialist - Packaging

Role Overview We are seeking a Packaging Expert who can design, develop, and execute innovative, functional, and cost-effective packaging solutions that enhance our brand identity and consumer experience. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of luxury packaging trends, sustainable materials, structural design, vendor management, and printing technologies. Key Responsibilities Design & Development Conceptualize and create premium and innovative packaging designs (rigid boxes, discovery sets, gift packs, eco-luxe packaging). Ensure packaging aligns with brand aesthetics, storytelling, and market positioning. Work closely with product, marketing, and creative teams to bring packaging concepts to life. Material & Sustainability Source eco-friendly and cost-effective materials (rigid boards, glass, tin, bamboo, biodegradable plastics, etc.). Evaluate sustainability practices and integrate recyclable or reusable packaging options. Vendor & Production Management Identify and manage packaging vendors (printers, box makers, bottle manufacturers, etc.). Negotiate pricing and timelines to balance quality, cost, and speed to market. Conduct quality checks during prototyping and mass production. Technical Expertise Apply knowledge of printing finishes (foiling, UV spot, embossing/debossing, lamination, varnishes). Create dielines, 3D renders, and mock-ups for approvals. Ensure compliance with industry standards, shipping safety, and regulatory labeling. Innovation & Trends Stay updated on luxury packaging innovations (magnetic closures, drawer boxes, refill systems). Benchmark against global brands (Tom Ford, Dior, Byredo, Diptyque, Jo Malone). Propose packaging concepts that create a superior unboxing experience. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Technology, Industrial Design, or related field. 4–7 years of experience in packaging design & production (luxury, FMCG, beauty, or lifestyle industry preferred). Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDraw, CAD packaging software. Strong understanding of printing processes, structural design, and material science. Excellent vendor network across India / International markets. Creative mindset with an eye for detail, trends, and sustainability.
