Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled

Design HOD

to lead and execute mechanical design of

static process equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, Storage tanks & Skids

. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of engineering codes, fabrication practices, and client technical requirements. This role is pivotal in ensuring engineering deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and engineering of

pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, Storage tanks & Skids & other static equipment

in accordance with ASME, TEMA, IS, API, and client specifications by using design tools like

PV Elite, FEA (Ansys), Compress, HTRI (Bonus), and Excel-based calculations.

Perform the Mechanical Design as per ASME U & U2

Handle AI/ AIS & ASME Team Leader for ASME U, U2 & R stamp renewal

• Perform Manual Design Calculations for Storage tanks as per API standards• Review and prepare

GA drawings, fabrication drawings, nozzle orientation plans, lifting arrangements,

etc.• Coordinate with clients, third-party inspectors (TPIs), and internal teams (Procurement, Planning, QA/QC, Production).• Participate in

design reviews, HAZOP studies (Optional), and technical meetings

with customers or consultants.• Support estimation teams during proposal stage by providing design inputs, weights, and man-hour estimates.• Ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables as per project schedule.• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior design engineers.• Contribute to continuous improvement and standardization of engineering tools/templates.

Required Skills & Experience:

B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 10 years

of experience in the design of static process equipment.• Proficiency in

PV Elite, FEA (Ansys), HTRI (Bonus), Code Calc, AutoCAD, and MS Excel.

• Strong working knowledge of

ASME Sec VIII Div 1, TEMA, API 650/660, IS 2825, U, U2 & R stamp

• Hands-on experience in

fabrication-related design aspects

, including saddle design, lifting lugs, supports, etc.• Good communication skills and ability to interact with clients and inspection agencies.• Exposure to design and detailing of

rubber lined and coated vessels

(e.g. Halar, FRP) will be an advantage.

Desirable

:• Experience working on international projects (e.g., RIL, Veolia, Aquatech, or EPC companies with clients in oil & gas industry, Fertilizer industry and Water & ZLD industry).• Familiarity with all

type of static equipment

.• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
