Design Engineer (Mechanical)

Job Summary:

The Design Engineer – Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) is responsible for the design and development of structural, architectural, and mechanical elements of Pre-Engineered Buildings. The role includes designing building systems, preparing detailed drawings, and ensuring that designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The engineer will also collaborate with internal teams and clients to optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, durability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Analysis:
• Design and develop Pre-Engineered Building systems including the structure (steel frames, roofs, walls), foundations, and connections.
• Conduct detailed structural analysis using industry-standard software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structures, SAP2000, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and client specifications.
• Project Collaboration:
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure the PEB system meets project requirements.
• Attend meetings with clients to gather requirements and provide technical recommendations.
• Coordinate with the production and fabrication teams to ensure the feasibility of designs.
• Technical Drawings and Documentation:
• Prepare and review detailed design drawings, schematics, and specifications for PEB components.
• Ensure that design documents are accurate, complete, and timely.
• Maintain records of calculations, reports, and other technical documentation.
• Material Selection and Optimization:
• Select appropriate materials and construction methods that optimize cost, quality, and lead time.
• Conduct cost estimation and feasibility analysis for the selected designs.
• Propose and implement design modifications to improve performance or reduce costs.
• Quality Assurance:
• Perform design reviews and ensure all designs meet the required quality standards.
• Support the quality control process during the fabrication and erection phases of the PEB.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and materials related to Pre-Engineered Buildings.
• Identify and implement improvements in the design process, tools, and software.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience:
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in the design and engineering of Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB).
• Experience with building design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD, Tekla, etc.).
• Knowledge of structural design, material strength, and foundation design principles.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in structural analysis and design software.
• Understanding of building codes and industry standards (e.g., AISC, IS 800, Eurocodes).
• Ability to generate accurate technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling and visualization software.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.
• Team player with a strong commitment to quality and safety.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to travel to construction sites for inspections and support as required.
• Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) would be an advantage.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position with standard office hours.
• Occasional travel to client sites or manufacturing facilities may be required.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
