Design Engineer (Mechanical)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with at least 2 years of experience in 2D and 3D mechanical design. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in plastic part design for injection molding, along with proficiency in preparing 2D GA drawings and 3D part/assembly models. The role involves close coordination with R&D and production teams to translate product concepts into manufacturable mechanical designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop plastic parts and enclosures suitable for injection molding using AutoCAD.
• Prepare 2D GA drawings, fabrication layouts, and mechanical schematics using AutoCAD.
• Create 3D part and assembly designs for housings, brackets, and control units using AutoCAD.
• Modify and optimize designs based on tooling and manufacturing feedback.
• Work collaboratively with electrical, electronic, and production teams for design integration.
• Ensure that designs meet structural, functional, and aesthetic requirements.
• Maintain design documentation, BOMs, and version control.
• Support prototype development, testing, and product validation.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
• Experience in plastic part design and knowledge of injection molding design principles.
• Understanding of mechanical design standards, tolerances, and material selection for plastics and metals.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and panel/enclosure design.
• Ability to interpret and create detailed engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving mindset.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with exposure to plastic parts and injection molding.
