Role Description The HVAC Design Engineer is responsible for designing and drafting heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems using industry-standard tools. Key duties include performing load calculations, airflow analysis, and duct sizing, as well as creating and reviewing system layouts and detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit. Key Responsbilities Design and draft HVAC systems for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Perform accurate cooling and heating load calculations in compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE). Conduct airflow analysis and size ductwork to ensure system efficiency and performance. Develop HVAC system layouts, schematics, and detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate mechanical systems across disciplines. Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards (e.g., SMACNA, ASHRAE), and project specifications. Review and update construction documents, respond to RFIs, and provide technical support during project execution. Assist with equipment selection and cost estimation in coordination with vendors and suppliers. Support project documentation, submittals, and participate in design review meetings. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in HVAC design and drafting. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Working knowledge of HVAC load calculation software (e.g., Carrier HAP, Trane Trace). Familiarity with applicable building codes and energy efficiency standards.
