Deputy Warehouse Incharge

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for end-to-end warehouse operations, including space utilization, safe handling of materials, and timely dispatch of finished goods using the FIFO method. It oversees inventory control through regular cycle counts and periodic (daily/weekly/monthly/annual) stock takes, ensuring system records match physical stock and supporting cost-effective inventory levels aligned with sales forecasts. The position also manages warehouse staff, equipment maintenance, safety and compliance requirements, and prepares all related documentation such as invoices, stock transfers, FOC documents, and e-way bills.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse and Inventory Responsibilities

• Ensure effective utilization of warehouse space and oversee proper loading, unloading, stocking, and safekeeping of all items.
• Maintain a smooth flow of goods and implement the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method when dispatching finished goods.
• Manage inventory levels and tracking systems, and optimize stock to reduce holding and operational costs.
• Oversee loading and unloading activities and ensure timely deliveries to all service centers.

Operations and safety

• Implement and monitor safety protocols, ensuring the overall safety and security of the warehouse and workplace.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff, manage duty schedules, and enforce company rules and procedures.
• Supervise general maintenance of warehouse machinery and carry out regular inspection of tools and equipment.

Documentation and coordination

• Prepare stockiest invoices, stock transfer documents, FOC documents, and e-way bills accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with the marketing department to maintain minimum and maximum stock levels of finished goods in line with market demand and sales forecasts.
• Ensure the accuracy of physical product inventories against system records by conducting cycle counts and following guidelines issued by the accounts and audit departments.

Inventory control and compliance

• Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inventory counts as per company guidelines, and evaluate and analyze any inventory variances.
• Ensure adherence to all compliance-related requirements and statutory norms as and when applicable

Qualifications:

Education

• Any U.G or PG in the related field.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse operations

Key Competencies/Skills:

• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management, including FIFO and stock control.
• Leadership and people management skills to supervise warehouse staff, manage schedules, and enforce company rules.
• Attention to detail and numerical accuracy for inventory records, variance analysis, and documentation such as invoices, stock transfers, and e-way bills.
