Job Purpose
A strategic leader responsible for the overall management and delivery of all projects within the organization.
This role involves establishing and maintaining project management standards, methodologies, and best practices.
The successful candidate will lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.
Will be a key liaison between the App IT and other business units, translating business needs into effective project plans and solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance:
ƒDevelop and implement a comprehensive project management framework, including Agile methodology, processes, tools, and templates.
ƒEstablish and enforce project governance standards, including risk management, change control, and quality assurance.
ƒAlign IT project portfolio with the organization's strategic goals and priorities.
ƒProvide regular and transparent reporting on the status of the entire project portfolio to senior leadership.
Team Leadership & Development:
ƒLead, mentor, and manage a team of IT project managers.
ƒConduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify professional development opportunities for team members.
ƒFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the PMO.
ƒRecruit, train, and onboard new project managers as needed.
Project Portfolio Management:
ƒOversee the entire lifecycle of all IT projects from initiation to closure.
ƒPrioritize and allocate resources (human and financial) across multiple projects.
ƒMonitor project performance, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
ƒEnsure effective communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and business leaders.
ƒEnsure team is updating boards on daily basis. Weekly meetings to be conducted for same.
Stakeholder Management:
ƒServe as the primary point of contact for IT project-related communications to all levels of the organization.
ƒBuild and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholdersƒTranslate complex technical concepts and project details into clear, concise, and business-focused information.
Process Improvement:
ƒContinuously evaluate and improve PMO processes and methodologies to increase efficiency and project success rates.
ƒStay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in project management. Example - AI
ƒImplement and manage project management software and tools.Required Qualifications and Experience
Educational Qualifications:Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
A masters degree is a plus.
Experience:
ƒMinimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in IT project management, with a strong focus on large-scale, complex projects.
ƒMinimum of 3+ years in a leadership role managing a team of project managers or a PMO.
ƒProven track record of successfully delivering a portfolio of IT projects on time and on budget.
Skills:
ƒExpert knowledge of project management methodologies.
ƒStrong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
ƒExceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
ƒExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
ƒProficiency with project management software (e. g.
, Azure Devops).
ƒDeep understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and system implementation lifecycles.
The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, results-oriented, and strategic thinker with a passion for process improvement and team development. Will have a strong executive presence and the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse groups of stakeholders.
Should be a proactive problem-solver who can navigate complexity and drive projects to successful completion.
