Description
As an experienced and dynamic Manager for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in the engineering and design field, your role will involve leading the design and engineering of BESS for utility-scale projects ranging from 20 MWh to 300+ MWh. Your key responsibilities will include performing battery sizing, evaluation, and selection based on tender requirements, developing system designs, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and layouts, and acting as the technical lead for large-scale Solar + BESS integrated projects. Additionally, you will provide pre-bid and post-bid engineering support, including preparing Request for Proposals (RFPs) for BESS systems, conducting vendor evaluation, and preparing technical bid documentation. Your ideal skills for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Power Engineering (Essential), along with 8-10 years of progressive experience in electrical design within the renewable energy sector and a minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on experience in BESS design. You should also have expertise in battery systems, design software such as AutoCAD and PV Syst, and project documentation including SLD preparation and layout design. In terms of qualifications, a Master's degree in Energy Technology, Power Systems, or a related field is preferred. Your key achievements are expected to include experience as a technical lead for projects exceeding 20 MWh BESS capacity, proven success in winning competitive bids, and a track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Additionally, you should possess strong stakeholder management and client relationship skills. Desired competencies for this role include a deep understanding of battery technologies, expertise in grid integration and power system design, knowledge of relevant standards, familiarity with solar PV systems, and professional competencies such as collaborative approach, project management skills, communication abilities, and problem-solving mindset.
