Deputy Manager/Manager - BESS Design & Engineering

As a Manager for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in our engineering and design team, you will play a crucial role in leading the design and engineering of BESS for utility-scale energy storage projects. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading the design and engineering of BESS for utility-scale projects ranging from 20 MWh to 300+ MWh - Performing battery sizing, evaluation, and selection based on tender requirements and technical feasibility - Developing system designs, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and layouts considering site-specific constraints - Acting as the technical lead and Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for large-scale Solar + BESS integrated projects - Providing pre-bid engineering support including technical evaluation and battery sizing - Preparing Request for Proposals (RFPs) for BESS systems and Balance of Plant (BOP) components - Conducting vendor evaluation and technical due diligence for battery and system suppliers - Supporting bid management activities for SECI, state utility, and private sector tenders - Providing technical guidance on AC/DC design for solar and energy storage systems - Driving innovation in system design to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness - Mentoring junior engineers and building technical capabilities within the team Qualifications required for this role are as follows: - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Power Engineering (Essential) - Masters degree in Energy Technology, Power Systems, or related field (Preferred) - 8-10 years of progressive experience in electrical design and engineering within the renewable energy sector - Minimum 3-4 years of hands-on experience in BESS design and engineering - Experience with utility-scale projects (20+ MWh BESS) Key achievements expected from you include: - Experience as a technical lead for projects exceeding 20 MWh BESS capacity - Proven success in winning competitive bids through technical excellence - Track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously - Strong stakeholder management and client relationship skills Desired competencies for this role include: Technical Competencies: - Deep understanding of battery technologies (Li-ion, LFP, etc.) and their applications - Expertise in grid integration and power system design - Knowledge of Indian Electricity Grid Code and relevant standards (IEC, IEEE) - Familiarity with solar PV systems and hybrid renewable energy projects Professional Competencies: - Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams - Strong project management and leadership skills - Excellent communication and presentation abilities - Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities - Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail,
