Role Overview
The Deputy Manager - Projects will be responsible for supporting end-to-end execution of Datacenter Design & Build projects, including project planning, design coordination, vendor management, site execution, quality assurance, and handover. The role requires strong project management, stakeholder coordination, and technical expertise in Datacenter infrastructure (MEP, Civil/Interior fit-out, and related systems).
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and execution of Datacenter Design & Build projects within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, contractors, OEMs, and internal stakeholders during design, procurement, and execution stages.
- Review and validate design drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards (TIA, Uptime, IS codes, ASHRAE, etc.).
- Monitor project progress, site activities, resource deployment, and ensure adherence to safety and quality guidelines.
- Support procurement processes: floating RFQs, evaluating bids, vendor negotiations, and preparing comparative statements.
- Track project budgets, cost control measures, and timely billing / certification processes.
- Prepare project status reports, MIS, and escalation notes for senior management.

- Coordinate with operations team for smooth project handover and documentation.
- Implement best practices, risk mitigation plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Datacenter infrastructure projects (Civil, Interiors, Electrical, HVAC, Fire Safety, Security Systems, BMS).
- Familiarity with design standards (TIA-942, Uptime, NFPA, ASHRAE) and regulatory norms.
- Good understanding of project management tools and methodologies (MS Project/Primavera preferred).
- Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and multitasking abilities.
- Vendor & contractor management experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (preferred).
Qualifications & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in Datacenter Projects / MEP Design & Build / large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Prior experience in managing datacenter fit-out, MEP, or turnkey projects is highly desirable.
- PMP / Prince2 / LEED / Uptime certifications will be an added advantage.
