Job Description

Role Summary:

The Deputy Manager will assist the Chief of Staff in the development and execution of strategies and projects carried out by the Office of the VC and provide comprehensive support across multiple functions within the University and outside. This position demands a dynamic, multi-faceted individual who is familiar with academia and is solutions-oriented, delivery-focused and persistent with an agile mind-set. The DM should be a strategic thinker and thrilled to work on complex transformative projects in a dynamic, fast-paced academic environment. A candidate for this position should be results-driven and have strong management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and very strong networking skills.


Key Responsibilities:

1) Assist the Chief of Staff in ensuring timely and successful execution of projects in the following:

  • Market research and analysis of emerging opportunities, potential risks and facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Prepare Plans and track progress, liaise and follow-up with relevant stakeholders and ensure timely execution.
  • Support in creating and carrying out critical communications and correspondence effectively.

2) Work in close coordination with the staff in the office of the VC.

3) Seamlessly transition between multiple responsibilities and work effectively and collaboratively across multiple functions within the University and outside.

4) Serve as a key liaison with important and valuable external stakeholders and strengthen relationships with them.

5) Coordinate, facilitate and participate in meetings, including preparing agenda, taking minutes and following up on action items.

6) Prepare presentations, reports and communications.

Requirements:

  • Excellent Project Management skills (Project management experience preferred).
  • Highly organised with problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively present information in the form of emails, reports, presentations, etc.
  • Familiarity with academia and well-acquainted with its processes.(preferred)
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to research, analyse data and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team comprising people from diverse backgrounds.

Qualification:

MBA from a reputed school and a minimum of 7-9 years of relevant experience.
