Job Description

Reports to: Head - Technology
Team Handling: 4 direct subordinates (team size ~10)

Objective of the Role:

To lead the product owner team in managing and optimizing lab workflows related to automotive coatings-including product development, cost optimization, application process improvement, and technical issue resolutionwhile ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Modification:
- Develop new automotive coating products.
- Modify existing products to meet customer and cost objectives.
Raw Material Replacement Projects:
- Identify cost-competitive resins, solvents, pigments, and additives for India and ASEAN without compromising quality.
Lab Operations & Optimization:
- Manage lab workflows efficiently by controlling costs, ensuring safety, and driving continuous improvements.
Customer Interaction & Support:
- Introduce new products and technologies on customer lines.
- Resolve customer line issues with technical and timely solutions.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
- Lead the CL team in the absence of the Head Technology.
- Mentor and develop team members as per guidelines.
Compliance & Safety:
- Implement ISO IATF-compliant lab procedures for safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Bachelors in Paint Technology Chemical Technology Science
Experience: Minimum 15 years in automotive coatings, with OEM exposure and team leadership
Technical Knowledge: Coating formulations, paint application processes, lab operations, and troubleshooting
