Deputy General Manager - Supply Chain Management

Position Overview

This position will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire supply chain function of the hospital, with a special focus on procurement of pharmaceutical products, medical consumables, and equipment management. This position will report into the Head of the hospital

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Management

- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with hospital objectives

- Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers

- Optimize inventory management systems to ensure minimal stockouts while maintaining cost efficiency

- Lead cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality standards

Procurement & Vendor Management

- Oversee procurement of pharmaceuticals, medical consumables, and equipment

- Manage OPEX and CAPEX procurement processes

- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in procurement processes

- Implement and maintain vendor evaluation systems

Inventory & Warehouse Management

- Establish inventory control mechanisms

- Oversee warehouse operations and management

- Implement best practices for storage of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals

- Ensure proper handling and storage of temperature-sensitive items

Team Leadership

- Lead and develop a team of supply chain professionals

- Establish KPIs and performance metrics for the department

- Provide training and guidance to team members

- Collaborate with various departments including Pharmacy, Nursing, and Administration

Required Qualifications

Education

- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field

- Additional certifications in Supply Chain Management (preferred)

-Graduation in any discipline

Experience

- Minimum 15+ years of experience in supply chain management

- At least 10 years of experience in healthcare/hospital supply chain management

- Proven experience in handling pharmaceutical procurement and storage

- Strong track record in OPEX and CAPEX management

Skills & Competencies

- In-depth knowledge of healthcare supply chain practices and regulations

- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical products and medical consumables

- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills

- Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Excellent leadership and team management skills

- Knowledge of JCI/NABH standards (preferred)
