Depot Manager

Job Summary

The Depot Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the plywood depot, including inventory control, dispatch, logistics coordination, staff supervision, and ensuring smooth material movement while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesDepot & Inventory Management

• Manage receipt, storage, stacking, and dispatch of plywood, block boards, laminates, veneers, and allied products
• Maintain accurate stock records and ensure physical stock matches system records
• Monitor stock levels, aging, and fast/slow-moving items to avoid shortages or excess inventory
• Ensure proper handling and storage to prevent damage and wastage

Dispatch & Logistics

• Plan and supervise loading and unloading of materials
• Coordinate with transporters for timely dispatch and delivery
• Ensure proper documentation such as invoices, delivery challans, e-way bills, and LR copies
• Optimize vehicle utilization and control freight costs

Team & Vendor Management

• Supervise depot staff, loaders, drivers, and contract labor
• Ensure discipline, productivity, and adherence to company policies
• Coordinate with security, transporters, and material handling vendors

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and warehouse best practices
• Maintain depot cleanliness and proper stacking norms
• Follow statutory and company compliance related to GST, inventory, and labor

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with sales, accounts, and factory teams for order execution
• Handle customer and dealer queries related to dispatch and shortages
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on stock, dispatch, damages, and expenses
