You are being sought to fill the position of Dean of Faculty Affairs at Medicaps University. As the Dean of Faculty Affairs, your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the overall academic environment and faculty development within the institution. **Role Overview:** In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of faculty affairs, including recruitment, development, performance evaluation, welfare, workload management, retention, diversity and inclusion, research support, recognition, academic policies compliance, collaboration with academic departments, budget management, faculty engagement with students, and advisory role to the university administration. **Key Responsibilities:** - Developing and implementing strategies for attracting and hiring qualified faculty members. - Overseeing the onboarding process for new faculty, including orientation programs. - Designing and implementing professional development programs for faculty to enhance teaching, research, and leadership skills. - Establishing and managing faculty performance evaluation processes. - Addressing faculty concerns, grievances, and conflicts. - Monitoring and managing faculty workloads to ensure a balanced distribution of responsibilities. - Implementing strategies to retain talented faculty members. - Promoting diversity and inclusion among the faculty. - Supporting faculty in their research and scholarly activities. - Developing and implementing programs to recognize and reward faculty achievements. - Ensuring that faculty adhere to academic policies and standards. - Collaborating with academic departments to align faculty resources with departmental goals. - Managing the faculty affairs budget effectively, allocating resources to support faculty development and initiatives. - Encouraging faculty involvement in student mentorship, advising, and extracurricular activities. - Serving as an advisor to the university administration on matters related to faculty affairs. **Qualifications Required:** - An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. qualification in any discipline and a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers. - A minimum of 15 years of teaching experience in university/college or research at the University/National level institutions/industries. - Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula, and technology-mediated teaching-learning processes. - A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) as per UGC guidelines.
