Reports to: Founder/CEO Job Overview The Data Engineering Mentor will provide strategic training and mentorship to Eduroids' students on a part-time basis, focusing on equipping them with industry-relevant data engineering skills. This role involves conducting hands-on training sessions, developing course material, and offering personalised guidance to students to enhance their technical proficiency and career readiness. Key Responsibilities Training Delivery: Conduct weekend training sessions, focusing on data engineering tools, techniques, and best practices. Curriculum Development: Develop and maintain up-to-date course content aligned with current industry trends and requirements. Hands-On Learning: Facilitate hands-on projects, exercises, and case studies to give students practical experience in data engineering workflows. Mentorship: Provide personalized guidance to participants, addressing their questions and helping them master complex concepts. Industry Alignment: Ensure all training content reflects the latest advancements in data engineering technologies and methodologies. Assessment and Feedback: Monitor participant progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to support their improvement. Knowledge Transfer: Share real-world insights and scenarios to bridge the gap between theory and practical application. Key Measures Student Progress: Track participant performance through assessments, aiming for high levels of skill acquisition. Industry Relevance: Maintain a curriculum that aligns with current data engineering tools, technologies, and practices. Feedback Scores: Achieve positive feedback ratings from participants for training quality and mentorship. Hands-On Projects: Ensure all students complete practical projects demonstrating their learning outcomes. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 15 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a related role. Must possess real time experience with Fortune 500 companies Proven track record in implementing data pipelines, data modelling, and ETL processes. Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL , Python , and Scala . Expertise with big data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka). Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Knowledge of data storage solutions (data lakes, NoSQL, relational databases). Soft Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
