Job Title: Snowflake & Matillion Data Architect

📍 Location: Remote

🕒 Work Mode: 100% Remote (Must have EST time zone overlap)

📅 Employment Type: Long-Term Contract

🔧 Key Responsibilities

Design and implement end-to-end data architecture using Snowflake and Matillion for ingestion, transformation, and storage

Define and maintain best practices in data modeling (e.g., dimensional, normalized, star/snowflake schemas)

Lead the adoption and scaling of modern data stack tools aligned with business objectives

Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to define data requirements and build reliable data pipelines

Ensure compliance with governance and security frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)

Optimize Snowflake performance (clustering, caching, query tuning, cost control)

Develop robust integration strategies across APIs, databases, flat files, and third-party sources

Promote data quality, metadata management, and documentation standards

Guide Matillion usage: orchestration, reusable job frameworks, and performance optimization

✅ Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field

Expert-level Snowflake skills: multi-cluster warehouse design, RBAC, data sharing, etc.

Strong hands-on experience with Matillion ETL/ELT pipelines

Deep understanding of scalable cloud data architecture

Proficient in SQL and scripting (Python or Bash)

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure preferred)

Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)

Solid understanding of ELT/ETL design and orchestration patterns

✅ Preferred Qualifications

Experience with dbt, Airflow, or similar tools

Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)

Knowledge of data governance platforms (Alation, Collibra, Atlan)

Exposure to real-time data pipelines or ML platform support

Industry experience in finance, healthcare, retail, or other regulated domains
