About the Role

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Finance Functional Consultant

3-month contract role


Key Responsibilities


1. Requirement Gathering & Analysis

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand finance processes and translate them into functional requirements.
  • Conduct workshops for understanding AS-IS and TO-BE business processes.
  • Prepare detailed Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), GAP-FIT analysis, and solution documentation.

2. Solution Design & Configuration

  • Configure and implement D365 F&O Finance modules including:
  • General Ledger
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Cash & Bank Management
  • Fixed Assets
  • Budgeting
  • Cost Accounting
  • Project Management & Accounting (optional but preferred)
  • Manage Chart of Accounts, financial dimensions, fiscal calendars, workflows, and reporting tools.


3. Testing & Support

  • Prepare test scripts and conduct SIT/UAT sessions.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide functional support during testing cycles.
  • Coordinate with technical teams (developers/architects) for customizations, integrations, and reports.


4. Deployment & Go-Live Activities

  • Support data migration activities including validation and reconciliation.
  • Provide go-live support and ensure successful stabilization of finance processes.
  • Deliver user training, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

  • Required Skills & Experience

    • 7+ years

      of experience as a D365 F&O / AX Finance Functional Consultant.
    • Strong expertise in

      Finance modules

      and core financial processes.
    • Experience with

      end-to-end implementations

      (minimum 2–3 full cycles mandatory).
    • Strong knowledge of

      financial reporting

      ,

      taxation

      ,

      localization requirements

      , and

      regulatory compliance

      .
    • Hands-on experience in writing FRDs, configuration documents, process flows, and user guides.
    • Ability to collaborate with technical teams and provide functional design specs for customizations.
    • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Microsoft certification in Dynamics 365 Finance (preferred but not mandatory).


    Nice to Have

    • Experience with

      Power Platform

      (Power BI, Power Automate).
    • Exposure to

      integration frameworks

      and

      data management

      in D365 F&O.
    • Experience working in

      UAE or GCC

      finance domain (VAT, reporting, compliance).
