Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Fund Management Corporation Limited (TNIFMC) is a SEBI regulated Alternative Investments Funds (AIF) manager, set up by the Government of Tamil Nadu along with leading financial institutions. TNIFMC manages focused AIFs in key sectors of the economy.

TNIFMC is looking to recruit a Cyber Security Consultant, and the position will be based out of Chennai. The Cyber Security Consultant will primarily work within the Security Operations Centre (SOC) model, focusing on the day-to-day security monitoring, basic incident triage, and vulnerability scanning.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Actively monitor SIEM and security tools, performing initial investigation and classification of low-to-medium severity security alerts and events.

2. Execute scheduled vulnerability scans and assist in tracking the status of critical patches for operating systems and applications.

3. Help administer and maintain endpoint security tools (AV/EDR), ensuring all security clients are operational and up-to-date.

4. Collect, organize, and prepare essential security evidence (e.g., logs, configurations) required for compliance reporting and security audits.

5. Conduct basic user access reviews to verify permissions and escalate any identified discrepancies for remediation.

6. Maintain and update procedural guides, runbooks, and the asset inventory list for all security infrastructure.

Desired Profile

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Cyber Security, or a related technical field.

2. 1 to 3 years of experience in a Cyber Security, Information Security, or IT Audit role, with a strong preference for holding a relevant certification (e.g., Security+, CEH, or CySA+).

3. Solid understanding of IT fundamentals (Networking, OS, databases) and core security concepts (CIA Triad, access control, basic encryption), coupled with exposure to common security tools (Wireshark, Nmap).

4. Excellent analytical and communication skills, and conversational proficiency in Tamil is mandatory.
