Role Overview

The Security Lead is responsible for managing security incident response and readiness within a 24x7 Security Operations Centre (SOC), supporting IT Infrastructure and Operations. The role includes overseeing vulnerability management, operating security tools, and ensuring rapid threat identification and remediation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate security incident response and lifecycle management of on-premises and cloud-based security solutions.
• Manage and respond to security incidents and operational requests, ensuring swift identification, containment, and remediation.
• Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and procedures.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, prioritize remediation, and collaborate with IT teams for patching and updates.
• Operate and monitor security tools (HIDS, NIDS, IPS, SIEM, etc.) to identify and address threats and vulnerabilities.
• Analyze security events, determine root causes, and recommend mitigation actions.
• Support audits, compliance reviews, and participate in industry forums.
• Monitor and communicate relevant security trends and developments.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant cyber security experience.
• Strong knowledge of IT operations (cloud, systems, infrastructure) and security assessment (audit, VAPT, pen testing).
• Hands-on experience with security products (EDR, WAF, DLP, SIEM, SOAR).
• Familiarity with frameworks such as ITIL, ISO, PCI-DSS, NIST.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH) preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to senior management.
• Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are an advantage.
