Job Description

Summary:

The Client is looking for an experienced accounting expert to support our data insights initiatives within the accounting software ecosystem. You will apply your deep understanding of accounting principles and financial metrics to analyze customer data, identify key insights, and suggest improvements that deliver customer and business impact.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze accounting data to uncover actionable insights and financial trends.
  • Apply US GAAP principles, including both cash-based and accrual-based accounting methods.
  • Identify anomalies, inconsistencies, or potential errors in customer financial records.
  • Collaborate with the product, engineering, and analytics teams to translate insights into improvements or feature ideas.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in accounting metrics and practices relevant to small businesses.
  • Recommend data-backed insights that help improve customer financial outcomes or enhance product capabilities.
 

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or equivalent professional certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or audit roles.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP, especially relevant to small businesses and startups.
  • Strong grasp of key financial metrics such as net income, gross margin, AR/AP cycles, etc.
  • Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms preferred.
  • Ability to synthesize large datasets into digestible insights.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to convey findings clearly.
 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with machine learning or analytics workflows is a plus.
