Job Description

As a Cost Estimation Engineer specializing in AHU Manufacturing, your role involves providing accurate cost estimations for Air Handling Units based on customer requirements, technical specifications, and internal manufacturing capabilities to ensure competitive pricing and profitability. Your key responsibilities include: - Accurately estimating costs for AHU manufacturing projects, including materials, labor, and overheads using estimation software and spreadsheets. - Assisting in technical sizing and design of AHUs based on customer specifications, capacity requirements, and industry standards. - Maintaining and updating estimation logs, historical data, and unit cost databases. - Preparing detailed BOM (Bill of Materials) and cost breakdowns for internal and customer use. - Identifying and liaising with vendors to obtain updated pricing for key components such as fans, coils, motors, and other accessories. - Evaluating and maintaining a database of approved vendors for cost-effective sourcing. - Coordinating with sales, design, and production teams to align cost estimates with manufacturing feasibility and project budgets. - Participating in review meetings and providing input on pricing strategies and margin optimization. - Reading and interpreting tender documents, technical drawings, and customer specifications. - Demonstrating knowledge of AHU components and their selection, such as fans, heat exchanger coils, filters, and dampers. - Preparing cost proposals and support documentation for submission to clients or internal stakeholders. - Communicating effectively with internal teams and external vendors. - Utilizing proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), basic AutoCAD, or estimation tools as applicable. In terms of qualifications, you are required to have a degree or diploma in Mechanical or HVAC Engineering, along with 2-4 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably in HVAC or AHU manufacturing. Additionally, you should possess a basic understanding of airside HVAC systems and components, strong numerical and analytical skills, and good verbal and written communication abilities.,
