Cost Accountant

As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to inventory management, cost accounting, and financial reporting in a manufacturing environment. Your primary duties will include: - Executing month-end journal entries to close inventory and cost accounts - Reconciling inventory records and generating reports, including inventory turns analysis - Updating worldwide inventory standard costs in Oracle system - Amortizing capitalized variances by calculating and preparing journal entries - Developing inventory reserve calculations - Leading and participating in cost and inventory projects within Oracle - Addressing auditors" queries on specific items relevant to your responsibilities - Conducting inventory and distributor audits which may involve travel - Managing zero cost updates and cost roll-ups for Bill of Materials (BOM) - Reviewing and approving Discrepant Material Requisition (DMR) - Overseeing customer sample accrual process - Potential future expansion into revenue and Accounts Receivable (A/R) duties as needed To qualify for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: - A degree combined with a professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (CMA) - 5 to 7 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing setting - Proficiency in cost accounting principles, practices, and procedures - Advanced Excel skills are necessary, while experience with Oracle is advantageous - Previous experience in accounting period-end closings - Any additional background in high-tech or semiconductor industries would be beneficial - Knowledge or experience in other areas of accounting, such as General Ledger (G/L), revenue, or Accounts Receivable (A/R), is a plus In summary, as a Cost Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing inventory costs, financial reporting, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
