Key Responsibilities1. Culinary Preparation and Execution: Assist the senior chefs with the preparation of ingredients for both the bakery and Continental kitchen sections. Perform basic culinary tasks such as chopping, peeling, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients. Help in the cooking and plating of Continental dishes, ensuring each item meets our strict standards for taste and presentation. Follow all recipes and instructions precisely to ensure consistency in every dish. Assist in the production of sauces, fillings, and other components used in both the main kitchen and bakery. 2. Kitchen Operations and Hygiene: Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized workstation at all times, adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP principles). Take part in the daily setup and closing procedures for the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is clean and properly stored. Receive and inspect incoming food deliveries, ensuring the quality and quantity match the order. Assist with proper storage and rotation of all food products to minimize waste and ensure freshness. Monitor stock levels on your station and communicate any shortages to the Head Chef or Sous Chef. 3. Teamwork and Professional Development: Work collaboratively with the entire kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
