Construction Project Manager (Civil Engineer)

Role Overview The Construction Project Manager (Civil Engineer) will oversee complete project life-cycle management, including planning, execution, cost control, contract administration, and project delivery in line with UAE construction standards. The candidate must have strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and proven experience managing large-scale civil projects in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Scheduling • Develop project execution plans, timelines, and milestones. • Prepare and review project programmes with Planning Engineers. • Identify project risks and prepare mitigation strategies.

2. Project Execution & Supervision • Oversee daily site operations to ensure adherence to drawings and specifications. • Ensure subcontractors and site teams perform their tasks efficiently. • Monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely completion.

3. Team Leadership & Coordination • Lead multidisciplinary teams including civil, MEP, QA/QC, safety, and planning. • Coordinate with consultants, clients, architects, and contractors. • Conduct weekly progress meetings and issue action plans.

4. Financial & Cost Control • Monitor project budgets, cash flows, and cost variances. • Review subcontractor bills, variations, and procurement requests. • Optimize manpower, materials, and equipment usage.

5. Contract & Documentation Management • Review contracts, tender documents, BOQs, and specifications. • Handle claims, variations, and EOT submissions. • Maintain documentation for audits and handovers.

6. Quality, Health & Safety Compliance • Ensure compliance with UAE authority standards (DM, RTA, Trakhees, DDA). • Oversee QA/QC procedures and inspections. • Ensure strict HSE adherence on-site.

7. Client & Stakeholder Relations • Communicate professionally with clients and consultants. • Provide regular project updates and manage expectations. • Close out client concerns efficiently. 8. Handover & Completion • Oversee snagging, de-snagging, and commissioning activities. • Ensure submission of as-built drawings and O&M; manuals. • Manage final project handover process.

Required Qualifications & Skills • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred). • 10–15 years of experience, at least 5 years in UAE. • Strong knowledge of UAE construction standards and authority procedures. • Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, and MS Office. • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Preferred Attributes • Experience in high-rise, commercial, villa, or infrastructure projects. • Familiarity with major UAE developers and consultants. • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure. • Strong negotiation and decision-making abilities.
