Construction Manager Data Center Projects

Role Overview: As a Construction Manager at vConstruct, you will be responsible for leading construction projects in the Advance Tech market in India, with a specific focus on Data Centre projects. Your role will involve overseeing the project from inception to handover, managing a team of resources, stakeholders, and ensuring seamless project delivery. Key Responsibilities: - **Project Charter**: - Understand project requirements and develop a detailed Project Charter. - Align key stakeholders with the Charter and prepare a draft Project Execution Plan. - Collaborate with the client's team to define the project matrix and internal approval process. - **Project Planning**: - Provide inputs for sequencing activities in the master schedule. - Guide the project Planning Manager in finalizing the detailed project schedule. - **High-level budgeting and costing**: - Develop high-level budgets based on available details. - Establish unit rates for materials and labor and update cost database regularly. - **Tendering & Bid Support**: - Lead the tendering process and analyze tender documents. - Evaluate technical submissions by vendors and suppliers and manage the Tender Event Schedule. - **Value Engineering & Cost Optimization**: - Plan Value Engineering workshops and suggest cost-saving measures. - Guide planning and design teams on schedule updates and change management. - **Coordination & Collaboration**: - Coordinate with team members at all project stages and proactively manage risks. - Collaborate with clients, design teams, and construction contractors for seamless execution. - **Change Management**: - Prepare a detailed change management process and include updates in periodic reports. - Review changes during different project stages and minimize impacts through value engineering. - **Contract Administration**: - Ensure draft contracts are prepared and respond to queries from contractors and vendors. - Support the clients team during legal issues or arbitrations and prepare draft responses. - **Project Handover and Closeout**: - Coordinate with teams for timely closure of project scopes and develop a detailed Handover Document. - Support project teams in financial closure and review lessons learned for continuous improvement. - **Continuous Improvement**: - Coordinate with stakeholders to capture lessons learned and review operational feedback for project delivery improvement. Qualifications & Experience: - Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Master/Advanced Tech studies preferred. - Experience: 15-18 years overall experience in the Indian market, managing contracting scope for large data center projects. - Technical Skills: Knowledge of construction practices, MEP equipment, procurement, and supply chain, vendors in Indian market, and willingness to adopt BIM. - Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills, willingness to learn technology, and open to relocation for project leadership.,
