Compliance & Regulatory Officer - Forex Operations

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain up-to-date understanding of RBI/FEMA rules, bank-scheme terms, FIU-IND/AML guidelines, Companies Act and other applicable statutes; interpret and operationalize them across the business.
• Draft/update/implement compliance policies, manuals, SOPs & compliance checklists specific to forex/FFMC ops.
• Conduct regular compliance reviews, branch inspections and transaction monitoring (high-value, suspicious or exception transactions); escalate and follow up remediation.
• Oversee KYC/Customer Due Diligence, STR/CTR reporting, SAR filing assistance, and coordination with FIU-IND or other agencies as required.
• Liaise with partner banks, auditors and regulators; coordinate responses to queries, inspections and statutory notices.
• Provide compliance training for sales, operations and branch teams; run periodic awareness and drill exercises.
• Maintain records, produce periodic MIS for senior management on compliance metrics, incidents & remediation status.
• Support internal investigations, disciplinary recommendations and corrective action plans where breaches occur.

Qualifications:

• Company Secretary (CS) qualification preferred or a law degree / qualified compliance professional with demonstrable regulatory experience.
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in forex, remittance, banking or financial services compliance
• Strong working knowledge of RBI/FEMA/ Companies Act/AML-KYC requirements and practical experience implementing them.
• Experience with branch inspections, transaction monitoring, and dealing with banks/regulators.
• Excellent written & verbal communication; ability to draft policies and regulatory responses.
• Prior experience at an FFMC/forex services firm, travel-forex player or bank
• Familiarity with STR/CTR reporting flows and AML transaction screening tools.
• Exposure to statutory audit and external inspection handling.
