Job Description

Role Overview: As a Commodity Specialist at Rohrback Cosasco Systems (COSASCO), your primary responsibility will be to oversee the transition of the supply base for machined parts to a Low-Cost Country (India) while ensuring critical specifications and secondary processes are met. This role requires meticulous coordination, supplier management, and a keen focus on timely product delivery to support manufacturing and production operations. You will collaborate closely with the supply chain manager and cross-functional teams to align with company objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Source, evaluate, and procure products for manufacturing, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and requirements. - Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. - Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews to enhance reliability and mitigate risks. - Negotiate contracts, pricing, and long-term agreements with suppliers. - Validate products in coordination with Engineering and Quality teams. - Lead commodity transitions to new suppliers effectively. - Manage inventory levels and risk mitigation plans to prevent disruptions during supplier changes. - Develop and execute sourcing strategies in line with business goals and market trends. - Maintain a database of key commodities and suppliers for optimized sourcing. - Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to meet technical specifications and reliability standards. - Stay updated on metal types, properties, applications, global market dynamics, industry developments, and regulatory changes influencing procurement decisions. - Prepare for potential travel requirements, including up to 25% travel and on-site time at local (India-Based) vendors. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. A master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is preferred. - Background in mechanical engineering is advantageous.
