As a Commodity Buyer (Mechanical & Electronics Parts) at Veoneer, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing global commodity strategies aligned with Veoneer's purchasing objectives and production requirements. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading supplier selection, qualification, and performance management to ensure a resilient and optimized supplier base. - Managing sourcing activities for both local and global projects, ensuring timely component availability and adherence to cost targets. - Overseeing post-SOP engineering change management and proactively mitigating supply chain risks. - Collaborating cross-functionally with supplier quality teams, design engineers, and technical centers to enhance supplier capabilities and performance. - Coaching and mentoring junior buyers to foster a high-performing and collaborative purchasing team. - Supporting cost improvement initiatives, including VEVA plans, tooling cost optimization, and supplier consolidation or expansion. - Ensuring compliance with Veoneer's policies, standards, and global purchasing procedures. To excel in this role, you should bring: - Extensive industry experience: 7+ years in direct material purchasing within the automotive sector, with strong exposure to both mechanical and electronic (PCBA) components. - Strategic and commercial expertise: Demonstrated success in price negotiation, sourcing strategy, contracting, and risk management. - Project leadership skills: Proven ability to manage complex sourcing projects and capital budget planning. - Technical and regulatory knowledge: Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards. - Strong communication and coaching abilities: Capable of articulating strategies clearly and mentoring team members effectively. - Fluency in English: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Digital proficiency: Skilled in MS Office and ERP systems, with a detail-oriented approach to data and process management.
