Description

The Commis I/II position is a vital role within the kitchen team, responsible for supporting the culinary team in food preparation and cooking tasks. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about cooking and eager to learn from experienced chefs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items as directed by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
  • Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met.
  • Help with inventory management and stock rotation.
  • Participate in menu planning and development as required.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient in basic cooking techniques and food preparation skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution is preferred.
  • Experience with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
